Abby, 12
I wish to meet YouTuber Dylan the Hyper
Since infancy, Abby has had a rare, treatment-resistant form of epilepsy. Taking medications three times a day to hold her seizures at bay is difficult for her. Abby is an emerging YouTuber who loves playing Roblox online. Due to the travel restrictions in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, Abby met her favourite YouTube idol Dylan the Hyper online. During the call, Dylan played Roblox with her and gave her tips on how to up her game. Abby was thrilled to meet him and cried tears of joy. “It meant the world to me that Hyper would do something nice like that for me”, Abby explained.

Rachel, 8
I wish to have a She Shed
Rachel has struggled with complex heart conditions since the day she was born, involving dozens of surgeries and hospital stays. Her condition means that she can’t afford to get sick. Like all other children, when home, she loves to play with her friends, Lego and watch movies. She wished for a She Shed that would give her a safe place to do all of this—and her wish came true. Her new shed includes a crafting station, games and toys, a mini fridge for snacks and a cozy space for movie nights with her sisters. Rachel’s mom explained, “For her to have her own space to hang out and be a kid is incredible.”

Brody, 4
I wish to have a hot tub
Brody’s premature birth led to a brain bleed that resulted in him being diagnosed with both a gastrointestinal and nervous system disorder. Although he has limited mobility, he loves taking baths, soaking in warm water and relaxing. He wished to have his very own hot tub to help relax his muscles and enable him to spend quality time lounging with his family each night in the comfort of his own home. Brody’s mom told us, “Despite all the challenges we have had to face, Brody is the absolute happiest kid, and he just loves life!”

I wish to have a VR gaming setup
Camden loves being at home and staying up late. He enjoys watching race car movies and playing driving simulator games. Camden was nine when he was diagnosed with leukemia. His three-year treatment took its toll with rounds of pills, needles and lengthy hospital stays. His mom watched his excitement grow as Camden waited for his wish for a virtual reality gaming setup to come true. Camden received a gaming PC, a gaming chair with speakers, a virtual reality headset and a desk. “I’m blown away [by] what they picked for me. Every time I walk into my room, I can’t believe it’s mine,” said Camden.

Hunter, 16
I wish to go jet skiing
Hunter thrives in the outdoors and loves to swim and play hockey. Chest pain led to a difficult diagnosis of chronic kidney disease. His treatments took him far from home with just one parent by his side. Looking for new outdoor experiences, Hunter and his family flew to Kelowna, B.C., where on Lake Okanagan he drove a jet ski and tried hydroflighting. “We could not have asked for a better day”, said mom Francine. Hunter still talks about this trip and has his memories that will last a lifetime.

Emmett, 6
I wish to have a room makeover
With Mario being his favourite video game character, Emmett wished for a Mario-themed bedroom. Diagnosed with diabetes and a gastrointestinal disorder, he relies on an insulin pump and is tube fed, but that hasn’t stopped him from always making his parents laugh with his silliness.
Wish Day began with Emmett bursting open a piñata, which held a special key to his brand-new bedroom. Inside was a wall mural, Mario toys, decorations and pictures, plus a PS5 gaming setup so he can play alongside Mario as much as his heart desires! He also loves his new mini fridge stocked with root beer. Emmett was overwhelmed with happiness and enjoys having friends over to play.

Brynn, 12
I wish to have a backyard playground
Brynn loves playgrounds. She loves movement—whether on a swing, slipping down a slide or climbing. Her limited balance and coordination, however, put her at high risk of injury. Frequent seizures and limited speech make it difficult to communicate or understand dangerous situations. Brynn wished for a playground to play on in the safety of her own backyard, near her family. Not only is it fun, but it will help her stay physically active, develop motor skills and use her imagination. Brynn’s mom was also excited, saying, “The playset will bring many days of fun and memories that Brynn and our family will share together.”

Easton, 3
I wish to have a backyard gazebo
Easton loves spending time outdoors in nature—whether he’s at the beach, enjoying a walk or listening to the birds. Born with a genetic disorder, Easton faces multiple medical challenges. He wished for a backyard gazebo that allowed him to be outdoors with his family, while playing safely. The gazebo is wheelchair accessible, includes a sand and water table for playtime and offers sun protection. Due to pandemic restrictions, Easton’s father and uncle constructed the structure themselves. His family enjoyed celebrating the completion of his gazebo with a special dinner and cake! Easton will enjoy his gazebo for years to come.

Eli, 8
I wish to have a golden retriever puppy
Having issues with his balance and eyesight, 8-year-old Eli was diagnosed with a brain tumour three years ago. His parents Chantae and Ash immediately went into survival mode. Frequent out-of-town treatments often kept them separated from their other children at home.
Eli and the rest of the family’s world changed forever with the addition of Jordy, his new golden retriever puppy. His parents explained, “Animals know when people are not feeling good and the bond between Jordy and Eli is something so special”. They went on, “The constant companionship is grounding for Eli, knowing that Jordy always cares and makes him feel worthwhile.”

Kaydence has a soft spot for four-legged friends and when deciding on a wish, her parents wanted her to focus on something meaningful and valuable to her. He wished for a new gaming setup and is now enjoying a new computer, gaming chair, headphones and so much more.
